presidents day fun
Hi everyone, so on presidents day all a kid wants to do is hang out with friends and watch TV all day, that's what I had in mind, but in our family, we don't do that often. Our parents however had other plans. So we ended up waking up at seven thirty, eating breakfast, then changing into grubby clothes to paint our basement. Not exactly what I was hoping for. Trust me, I was thrilled when we learned we were redoing our basement, but on presidents day, the day we had free time, not exactly the day I would have chosen if I were in charge of the project. So we start to clean the basement and then move everything in the middle, then moving it all our of the basement, then we started to steam the walls. It was fun, but hard. Then after we steamed we had to pick up all the paper off the ground, although Emily did a lot of it, we still had to pick up a lot. Then we washed the walls with this poison stuff we had to go to the store to get. It was OK except for the part where it got the wall green and then you would have to try to wash it again until the green came off the wall. Then we finally started to prime. The primer was not white though, we are painting our basement yellow so we got sort of a yellowish color, I thought it looked like the color of our living room, but hey whatever, its not my choice to paint it that color. After painting the walls, halls, and window box things, in the whole basement, we started to put the real color on. It looked like our living room, and it seriously looked the same as the primor, seriously I'm not kidding, it looked exactly like our living room. But hey, I didn't choose the paint. After mom and dad finished doing the real paint, me and Kayla made a fruit salad using marshmallows, apples, bananas, and grapes. We used like a whole bag of marshmallows though so its all good. For dinner we had baked potatoes, fruit salad, and salmon, only the potatoes were not very good because we only gave them like a half hour to cook. And then we went to bed, and that was our day. Although we have a lot of paint on ourselves!
